2021 National Hurricane Conference

From June 14-17, several members of the Vantage team attended the 2021 National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The annual conference’s goal is to improve hurricane preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation throughout the United States and the tropical islands of the Caribbean and Pacific. The conference also serves as a forum for the exchange of new ideas on improving federal, state, and local Emergency Management policy.

Our team had a wonderful time learning and training. We are excited to head home and apply the information we learned in order to better help and serve our community.

Hurricane Season: We Want You To Be Prepared

Hurricane season begins June 1 and runs through November, but it’s never too early to get prepared. As the season approaches, we encourage you to act and get prepared for a potential hurricane to avoid last minute stress.

Basic steps that can be taken now include stocking up on emergency supplies, creating a family disaster plan, reviewing & updating insurance policies, and knowing your evacuation route.

We recommend preparing an emergency supply kit that includes essentials to get you through the storm, and items that you may need in case of an emergency. Non-perishable items such as canned goods and bottled water are helpful in case of a power outage or a storm that requires you and your family to remain inside. In the event of a power outage, flashlights and candles will allow you to navigate safely throughout your home. More information and preparedness plan templates are available from FEMA’s ready.gov website.

Once you are notified of a potential hurricane, we recommend reinforcing your house and windows to avoid any serious damage to your home. Lastly, remove or bring in any debris or loose items that are outside your home. Strong hurricane winds can cause your items to be lost or damaged.

In case of damage following a hurricane, Vantage Disaster Recovery services provide rapid disaster response and recovery that helps communities respond, rebuild, and recover. To learn more, visit https://vantage-contractors.com/disaster-recovery/.

VANTAGE Sponsors Municipal Day Crawfish Boil

We are proud to have sponsored the 44th Municipal Day Crawfish Boil hosted by the Louisiana Municipal Association. The food was great and the people were even better!

The LMA is a statewide member organization that advocates for all 303 municipalities and 2 parishes, to strengthen community development because we all call a village, town, or city “home”. To learn more about the Louisiana Municipal Association, visit https://www.lma.org/.

BUST Breast Cancer: Supporting a Great Community Cause

Our team at Vantage is proudly sponsoring Woman’s Hospital’s BUST Breast Cancer virtual event. This event was created as a fundraising effort to provide essential support for Woman’s breast cancer outreach,

This year, businesses and organizations have designed special bras to BUST Breast Cancer. As a Pink Partner, we created a blinged-out bust display, paired with bedazzled tools, that you can donate to vote for! Your support directly funds Woman’s mobile mammography programs for underserved women in the community.

We love our state, and events like this embody what we want to accomplish as a company. Woman’s Hospital is a crucial pillar in our region, and the importance of their incredible work can’t be promoted enough. With your help, we can raise awareness and save lives. Voting ends October 31!

Vote our display as your favorite here! Share with family and friends to cast their donations and votes, too!
